ain't it fun thinking about how we will be working in the future.. you know ive been doing business over facebook instead of my mail account for quite a while now. this is just one of the examples of how our social network tools are becoming more and more intertwined with business tools.

i recently dived into this freelance world that you describe.. not the first, or the last, but maybe as an early adopter (well one could say im late and another too early)..

here's a question.. do you need experience in company X before diving into do you own thing or dive in head first fresh out of school? i still think experience is a must but not necessarily in company X but maybe as an apprentice with anb experienced likemind.. so out with internships and in with apprenticeships if you ask me.. so are we back to basics? :)

don't underestimate the need for structure, which stems from the need for security. freelancers/self-companies might loose scene in ambigious circumstances.
